Animal Concern Fundraising Trustee
Job Description and Person Specification
General Information
Our board members are responsible for making sure Animal Concern and sister charity Animal Concern Advice Line (AC/ACAL) are fulfilling their charitable objectives of campaigning against animal exploitation and promoting the humane treatment of animals, using their skills and experience to help it achieve this. Collectively, they have oversight of the linked charities and make the decisions about how they are run. Both charities are in a transitional phase, looking to their long-term sustainability and managing their small staff team.
It is sensible for our board members to have knowledge of some aspect of animal welfare, as well as small charities best practice. But in particular, we are in need of expertise to help safeguard the finances of the charities through comprehensive fundraising and financial planning.
Typically, they meet three times a year to discuss AC/ACAL’s activities and organisational strategy. Expenses for reasonable travel and accommodation will be reimbursed.
Every board member must be voted in by our members at our Annual General Meeting, which usually takes place in early summer each year.
The role is unsalaried but reasonable travel and accommodation expenses for meetings will be reimbursed.
There is no closing date, our invitation is ongoing.
